I watch a lot of TV. Probably more than I should. However, this over-indulgent hobby of mine comes in handy in these dark quarantine times. I admit I am hard to please, but here are some of my favorites I highly recommend binging during this time of self-isolation.

Schitt’s Creek
Available on Netflix
Okay so I have been obsessed with this show for the last two years, but I am adding it to the list because I have already rewatched it all the way through twice. It’s wit and humor are so fun. The characters are ridiculously lovable. It’s about the Rose family who suddenly lose their family fortune and are resorted to living in a town called Schitt’s Creek as they try to rebuild their lives. It is instantaneously quotable and you just have a great time immersing yourself into the storylines. The last season just aired, and is not available on Netflix, but it’s only a matter of time. I can go on and on about how much I love this show, but I won’t annoy you with that. Just watch and thank me later.
The Feed
Available on Amazon Prime
I actually haven’t finished this one yet. However, I am instantly captivated. The Feed has a very strong Black Mirror vibe, taking place in the near future, twisting your sense of reality and making you question everything along the way. In this universe, people have a communication device implanted in their brains to help connect to each other and the world. But what happens when these devices begin to become compromised by an unknown entity? I am only a few episodes in, but was instantly intrigued with the plot and can’t wait to see where this takes us.
Hunters
Available on Amazon Prime
I have read mixed reviews about this show, but I quite enjoyed it. This campy revenge-fantasy thriller follows a group in the 1970’s who are determined to take revenge on Nazi’s living in America for their atrocious crimes. The cast is studded with fabulous actors. Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, Carol Kane, and Josh Radnor are just some of the talented stars who grace the screen in this twisted narrative.
GLOW
Available on Netflix
I admit I was hesitant to watch this show when I first saw it advertised, thinking it looked unappealing and gimicky. However, I was hooked as soon as I started the first episode. In 1985 Los Angeles, a down-on-her-luck actress auditions for a women’s wrestling TV show for their local broadcast network. The ridiculousness of the wrestling personas really balance out the real-life tensions and hardships each woman faces. I’m a sucker for ensemble casts, and this show brings a unique cohort of stars to the ring.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Available on Amazon Prime
This show gets a lot of critic’s raving and rightly so. Honestly this show hosts some of the most entertaining moments of television I have had the privilege to experience. It takes place in the 60’s, following housewife Midge Maisel as she navigates the male-infested world of stand up comedy. It is fast-paced, quippy, and thoroughly enjoyable. Love love LOVE.
Sex Education
Available on Netflix
As soon as I recommended this show to my roommate, she binged it all in just a day and a half. This show is incredible. First off, let me start by saying that British comedy is my jam. This show follows Otis who lives with his sex-therapist mother and unintentionally starts an underground sex therapy business for his fellow classmates in high school. Not only is this show highly entertaining, but it brings about a diverse cast and represents a lot of sexual and social issues. I might just go back and rewatch the whole thing tonight just to experience its brilliance once again.
You’re the Worst
Available on Hulu
Now this show originally aired on FX and I discovered it a few years ago. I saw that it was on Hulu and decided to give it another watch. It follows Gretchen and Jimmy, two self-destructive singles living in LA who attempt a relationship. While it is a comedy, and the characters are absolutely ridiculous, the show manages to take a surprisingly deep dive into clinical depression and the impact it has on relationships. The writing is so clever and beautifully balances the comedy and pessimistic realism.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Available on Netflix
Musical theatre meets romcom in this gloriously weird show. Rebecca Bunch quits her fast-paced New York life as a lawyer to move across the country to follow her high school boyfriend, Josh, whom she is determined to make fall in love with her. The original songs are catchy and incredibly entertaining, showcasing the cast's talent. I admittedly stopped watching after the first season, but would highly recommend watching the craziness unfold onscreen. Disney fans will also appreciate a familiar voice in Santino Fontana, Josh's best friend. I plan on finishing the last few seasons of the show and see just where Rebecca ends up.
These are just a few I would suggest watching if you haven't already! Of course, there are so many more that could have made this list, but I'll let you start there. Happy Quarantine!
